As part of the Arbroath 2020 festival, experience daily life during the time when the Declaration of Arbroath was written.

Monday 6th April – Arbroath Abbey Free Entry Day 

Explore Arbroath Abbey for free and see the new visitor centre.

Discover the history of this magnificent medieval abbey and the story behind the letter sent from here on 6 April 1320.

Saturday 25 & Sunday 26 April 2020- Family learning activity

Creating History! Crafty weekends at the Abbey – origiami herb pot making

Find out about the abbey herb garden then make your own herb pot.

Join artist Hannah Ayre at this drop in family learning event to make an origami herb pot. Choose from the traditional herbs grown at the abbey to plant and take home.

Suitable for families with children age 5+;  all young people must be accompanied by an adult (who can also join in!) Free

Monday 30th April – Anything to Declare? The meaning and Legacy of the Declaration of Arbroath (Talk and Q&A)

A chance to hear three prominent Scots discuss this important document and its meaning over time, with audience participation.
