Arbroath Abbey Pageant Society

Arbroath Abbey Pageant Society are a heritage community group who devise, create and performs a costumed tableau of the 1320 Declaration of Arbroath on the historic site of Arbroath Abbey.

Arbroath Abbey

The tableau starts with Abbot Bernard at the High Altar of Arbroath Abbey, then shifts to the court of King Robert which was at Newbattle Abbey near Edinburgh, before returning to Arbroath Abbey where the document is passed to the Bishop for transporting to Avignon.  There is a section of the Declaration used within the narration.
