Arbroath Guildry

Arbroath Guildry Incorporation, the Scottish east coast town’s longest established secular organisation.

The Guildry today acts principally as a charitable trust but with an important additional remit to protect and promote the heritage of the town, world-famous as the site of the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath.

As part of the 2020 celebrations of the 700th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath on April 6, 1320, Arbroath Guildry is gifting a large bronze Bas Relief sculpture to the people of Arbroath.

This took place in Arbroath’s 12th Century Abbey in 1320 in the presence of King Robert the Bruce. The document was to provide inspiration for the American Declaration of Independence 450 years later.
